Kylie's return wows audience
Tuesday, 1 July 2008
Wow wow wow wow — what a performance Kylie gave on the opening night of her X tour.
The pint-sized pop princess oozed glamour as she took to the stage for the
first of four nights at the Odyssey.
Kylie anthems such as Can’t Get You Out of My Head, Spinning Around, Step
Back in Time and On a Night Like This had the sell-out crowds dancing in the
arena as well as in their seats.
The Aussie songstress also whipped the audience into a singing frenzy during
Kids when she asked everyone to join in and “help her”.
From the moment she appeared on stage via a suspended ‘electrifying’
platform to the end of the finely-tuned show, Kylie had an impressive array
of glamorous costume changes. It seems that gone are the days of the sexy
gold hotpants (now consigned to her female dancers) and instead glamour is
the new hot look.
The audience were also treated to a special performance of Copacabana
complete with a flamboyant stage show of the showgirl’s tragedy.
The dazzling night ended on a high with classic Kylie favourite from the
‘80s I Should Be So Lucky.
And lucky we were at witnessing the return of Kylie to these shores in such
spectacular style after 17 years since her last visit.
Speaking to the audience she vowed she would not leave it so long until her
next visit!
