Police have said that the body of a man found burnt in Bangor last week was “non suspicious”.
The victim, who has not been named, was found “badly burnt” in Braeside Close last Thursday morning.
He is believed to be aged between 50 and 60.
The PSNI confirmed that the find was reported to police at 5.24am on Thursday, June 26.
A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service confirmed that police contacted them at 5.24am and an ambulance crew arrived at the scene at 5.30am.
The victim was found “deceased” and “badly burnt”.
Speaking shortly after the incident, local councillor and chairman of North Down DPP Alex Easton said: “I am deeply concerned that a man’s body has been found by a taxi man on an open street.
“After visiting the scene residents have expressed concern that this has happened on their own doorstep.”
