Ballynafeigh lodge parades
Wednesday, 2 July 2008
Ballynafeigh Orange Lodge will be holding its annual lodge parade this Friday, July 5, in preparation for the main Twelfth parades the following week.
The lodge will set off from its Ormeau Road headquarters on Friday evening, following the route into Annadale Embankment, back around into the Ormeau Road where they will then travel into the Cregagh estate.
During the main Twelfth parade, Ballnafeigh Lodge will walk the same route as last year — instead of walking the full length of the Ormeau Road they will parade through the Holy Land to Belfast city centre and then march to the main Twelfth gathering in Barnett Demense.
“We have been working closely with the police and hope the march will pass off peacefully,” said Belfast Orange Lodge representative Mervyn Gibson.
